Joseph Walsh Studio is pleased to participate for the first time in Culture Night and share an experience of the studio with everyone who has expressed interest in and support of the work. The tour includes the workshop and studio gallery, where new work will be displayed.
The Joseph Walsh Studio participation in this year’s Culture Night takes place during Decoding Craftsmanship II; the second in a series of events at Joseph Walsh Studio, Cork designed to put the studio at the center of a valuable creative dialogue, while also framing its ongoing commitment to creativity and excellence. Events include a two-day Rhino workshop followed by a one-day seminar, which features internationally renowned design practitioners, educators and thinkers such as Humberto Campana, John Makepeace, Gareth Neal, Günther Schnell and Chris Lefteri.
Joseph Walsh’s work has received recognition through its inclusion in Museum, Corporate, Liturgical and Embassy Collections as well as numerous Private collections. Awareness of the work has grown over the years through participation in international exhibitions while his work has been critiqued by curators, academics and the media.
“My work is an expression of my values; how I see things and imagine they should be; translated into an object while addressing issues. Issues of structure, form and the senses, of space, light, technology and ecology; embracing what is around us and seeking its future potential. The resolve and execution of the making process and the understanding of material, each play an important role in the refinement of this expression.” – Joseph Walsh 2009
