A Load of Blarney- Heritage Trail
We present you with ‘a load of Blarney’ while walking around our pretty little village!
‘Brand Blarney’ and ‘Blue Hat Players’ have collated over 250 years of Blarney history which is guaranteed to be grim, gruesome, great, gallant, greedy… and highly entertaining as they literally step back in time around the village square.
Annette Curtain, the 250 year old village gossip, alternates between narration and haranguing the locals as they re-enact scenes of domesticity, mill work, schooldays, child labour, weaving linen and protesting against tithes. The vicar has plenty to say on the subject and poor auld John Buckley pays the ultimate price by swinging from the gallows –suffice to say, he’s not a happy man!
All this drama (and more) unfolds within the hour around the village square among much hilarity and heckling. Total chaos and a complete load of Blarney guaranteed!
Suitable for all ages /wheelchairs/buggies.
Commences at 7pm -Plaza outside the Church of the Resurrection in the village.
