5 music acts made up of both local and international music styles, playing in 2 different locations in Carrigaline on Culture Night! There will be story telling, seanachai, street circus acts, art exhibitions, busking trail & fun for all the family!

Just some of the fantastic talent performing on Culture Night in Carrigaline include:

TORCÁN

Torcán are an Irish new-style Trad band based in Cork, Ireland. Led by three-time All-Ireland medalist Jason Turk on the accordion, Torcán members Seán Murphy, Robin Turk, Brian Leach and more recently, All-Ireland Bodhrán champion Karl Nesbitt, create a rich and complex sound with the fiddle, bazouki, electric bass, guitar, whistles, and bodhrán.

CARLOS PAZ

Carlos Paz is a Cuban artist, a native of Santa Clara. He has worked since 2002 as a guitarist, tres player, composer, arranger, vocalist and director. He has been part of prestigious musical groups such as the Manacanabo Septeto and the Isla Quartet until forming his personal WorldMusic band Carlos Paz y Mestizo, in which he experiments with musical genres such as Jazz, Flamenco, Rumba, Timba, and Music. Urbana, and where he currently works as a leader and composer. Winner in 2016 of the Ignacio Villa Scholarship from the Hermanos Saíz Association, he recorded his first album at the Egrem Music Recording and Edition Company.

DANNY DINEEN

Danny is a passionate musician from Carrigaline and has played both solo and with many bands throughout the years, touring in both Ireland and abroad.

Not just a musician, Danny is also student of cognitive science and founder of Munster Music Therapy. It is his dream to provide the widespread use of music therapy services to the people of Ireland, starting with the province of Munster and of course, Co. Cork, the place that he calls home.

UMOJA DRUMMING

Umoja drumming Carrigaline is a group that welcomes anyone who would like to learn the art of West African drumming and they also provide people in the local community an opportunity to meet new people.

RICHARD O’FARRELL AND ÉIST

Richard O’Farrell and his band are a local Trad and folk band that have played some fantastic gigs within the local community in Carrigaline throughout the years.

Always willing to entertain the natives when asked to do so, a Culture Night in Carrigaline would not be complete without these fantastic local musicians on board.
