This special performance from the Thomas Kent Pipe Band will include many Irish Tunes and some slow airs. In the event of bad weather, the performance will take place in the hall.
The band was formed with the founding of the pipers club in Fermoy in 1913. From 1918 to 1925 the band lay dormant due to the difficult conditions prevailing at this time, eventually disbanding in the late 40’s. In 1958, the band reformed and has been going strong ever since with young and older members. 2016 was an extremely busy year for the band, celebrating the Centenary of 1916 playing in many places in co Cork and Waterford, to name a few. Practise takes place each Wednesday night in the back hall of Fermoy C.Y.M.S from 7.30pm. We welcome new members, young and old, keeping up the tradition of a pipe band in Fermoy.
Time: 8:00pm - 11:00pm
