Tagann an ghrian i ndiadh na fearthainne! Susnshine comes after rain. Gaeltacht Mhúscraí comes to Macroom. A celebration of music, song and story.

Macroom Further Education & Training Centre is happy to host Ceol Craic agus Scléip: a celebration of song, music and story on Friday 17 September, 7-9pm.

Tagann an ghrian i ndiaidh na fearthainne! Sunshine comes after rain and Gaeltacht Mhúscraí comes to Macroom. What better way to celebrate Culture Night than a live performance at our new premises 69, New Street, Macroom (formerly DIY shop).

We will be joined by Peadar O’ Riada and friends from Cúil Aodha with a selection of tunes; Eibhlís Uí Thuama, Seosaimhín Ní Chuileanáin, Mairéad Uí Uidhír, Baile Mhuirne – continuing their grand-mother Bess Cronin’s legacy and heritage and nearer home, the power and pathos of sean- nós singing with Joe Creedon, Macroom.

The harp is synonymous with Irish culture and we are lucky to have Síle Ní Dhubhghaill to grace the occasion.

Well-known Cork singer- songwriter Fintan Lucy accompanied by the equally talented guitarist Noely Ward will provide an eclectic mix of folk songs and some original material.

To guide us through the night in his own inimitable style is storyteller and raconteur Joe Creedon Inchigeelagh.

This is a free but ticketed outdoor- event held in accordance with government regulations.

Tickets can be booked by calling Sheila at 086 8239097
