Info

This exhibition is presented by local artist Karen Clancy, alongside some other talented local artists. It is set in the beautiful and historical house in Richmond, Fermoy.  Karen recently returned to Fermoy after 7 years of teaching art and photography in London.  She has taken culture week as an opportunity to exhibit her personal paintings and to share pieces of art from some of her talented friends.

As an experienced art & photography teacher, Karen explore’s signs and symbols, mark making and the art of ‘Play’ in her paintings.

“As children we play, explore and create. We learn to dance, sing and make art. When we get older we may become less willing to express ourselves in such a carefree way.”

Karen has a love and deep understanding of yoga and mindfulness, which is evident in her work and in the way she teaches.  Art is a way of visually communicating a thought, feeling and emotion.

Even when we are doodling we are more mindful and relaxed.

This exhibition will host other local artist’s, where we hope to make a welcoming, open and diverse space focused within a creative community.  Come along and take some inspiration on Friday 17th September from 17.00 – 21.00.
