Seabed Sanctuary Artist Collective presents a film and music evening focusing on our oceans, and West Cork shores. Our Toxic Romance with Plastic documentary by Chris O’Connor will be introduced by Nic Slocum of Whale Watch West Cork, with guest speakers and question time.
Music from the Seabed, concert: Marcus Maeder interweaves field recordings of Bantry Bay from the research project Sounds of Water and Land – Glór Uisce agus Tallamh with sound fragments and passages from his latest release, Drifts. The result is a multi-layered, sonic burrow that brings natural sounds from the sea and land together with synthetic sounds into a harmonic polyphony.
Marine Biodiversity of West Cork, 7 years’ photography around our shores and shallows by Julia Cooper documenting creatures, seaweeds and habitats
Time: 7pm start, film at 7.30pm, followed at 8.30pm by concert with photographic slide projection … until bar closing time
